MEET MARY ANNE

I am humbled  to have been elected by to serve Germantown as your Alderman twice and elected by my peers to serve as Vice Mayor for 5 of those years.

A little bit about me...

I am a passionate advocate for public education having most most recently served Germantown as the District 5 Board Commissioner on the Shelby County School Board during a pivotal transition period for Memphis City and Shelby County Schools students.

I’ve served my community as the Vice Chairman for the Germantown Parks & Recreation Commission, Chairman of the Farm Park Advisory Group, Chairman of the Bobbly Lanier  Farm Park, Inc. nonprofit and executive board member for the Germantown Arts Alliance and Leadership Germantown and now serve as Alderman liaison to the Parks & Recreation, Economic Development, Public Art and Neighborhood Preservation Commissions and as a member of the Germantown Library Board and Board of Zoning Appeals.

My husband, Steve, and I were married 37 years ago at Germantown United Methodist Church and are proud of the life we've led here- focused on our faith, our family, and our friends. Our daughter, Morgan, lives in Salem, Oregon, with her husband, Dr. Shane Day, and their newborn, Junie, our first grandchild. Our son, Marshall, and wife Lindsay are newlyweds making their life right here in the Memphis area. My daughter, Madison, lives in Nashville working at Vanderbilt University. Good kids. Great adults!

Steve and I are known in Germantown for our hospitality around our table working with local charitable organizations- Memphis Oral School for the Deaf, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the West Tennessee Veterans Home- and have extended that to around a campfire by winning the Lincoln County Cowboy Symposium’s World Championship Chuckwagon Cookoff.

I am an Affiliate Broker with The Firm | Memphis Real Estate and an active member of the Memphis Area, Tennessee & National Association of Realtors, Women’s Council of Realtors, Accredited Buyer’s Council and Multi-Million Dollar Club. I've served as Disaster Relief Coordinator for Germantown United Methodist Church during the floods of 2010, Confirmation Coordinator, 2nd Vice President of Germantown United Methodist Women, Welcome Ministry Coordinator, Youth Advisory Council member, Leadership Germantown graduate and am the 2000 recipient of the Jim Roberts Leadership Award.

I love Germantown. I am honored to serve as your Alderman in Position 2 and humbly ask for your vote on November 8th.
